- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Content You Upload: Audio files, video files, and other media you upload for transcription and study
- Learning Data: Vocabulary lists, progress data, study preferences, and notes you create
- Communications: Messages you send us, feedback, and support requests
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Features you use, study sessions, and learning progress
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and pages viewed

- Process your uploaded content (transcription, translation, analysis)
- Track your learning progress and provide personalized recommendations

4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our platform:

These providers process data according to their respective privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary to provide our services.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active
- Uploaded Audio Files: May be deleted 90 days after transcription is complete (you retain the transcripts)
- Transcripts, Vocabulary, and Learning Data: Retained until you delete them or your account
- Generated Content: Retained until you delete it or your account
- Usage Logs: Retained for up to 1 year
- Error Logs: Retained for 90 days
When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure password hashing
- Regular security updates
- Access controls and authentication
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View and download your data through your account settings
- Correction: Update your account information at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability: Export your vocabulary and learning data (Anki export available)

8. Children's Privacy
EchoLingual is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
9. International Users
Our services are operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
